We then treated our whole family to the gingerbread building activity afterward. For the $14 price per house there was no variety and much of our candy was either broken or melted together. The activity was a bit pricey for the quality. Again, I’m giving the 4 stars based on past experiences being great, but this one left us still hungry and unfulfilled.
Definitely a place that won't disappoint!
Four stars only because it is a family tradition to come here and typically it’s great. This time we celebrated my 7 year old’s birthday. The food was decent, but the kids meals were quite skimpy for the price we paid! Mac and Cheese entree came in a small side dish bowl! I had to share my meal to fill up our 7 and 8 year old girls who do not have huge appetites.
What an awesome place for anyone to go and have a great time. They offer everything with a great atmosphere so you can go and enjoy yourself with or without kids. The food there is phenomenal and the restaurant and in the deli, I would choose to have their deli food for dinner every night if I could. If you've never been there it's a must-see so give it a visit and I promise you'll have a good time
There are literally acres of parking, many handicapped spaces (that fill quickly) and an associated restaurant a few steps from the main entrance. Haven't tried the restaurant, so can't comment on it. But I'm certain the eye to quality that permeates the rest of the operation extends there as well.
Family-owned farm and store enterprise. Allow plenty of time for a visit. Even if you are not taking kids or grandkids to take out to the orchards or fields to personally pick produce (via a tractor-pulled wagon) you'll need a lot of time to peruse the nursery (which has an excellent variety and selection of plants in season) and market. The market has top-quality items in hundreds of categories, on-site bakery (Irish soda bread is amazingly tasty
Great country cooking! Good service and always friendly. There's an orchard and farm attached with a pick-your-own option or you can buy their produce fresh in their grocery. Our family has picked apples there for several years.
Was so disappointed in restaurant Husband ordered chicken noodles. We had been use to chicken and noodles served on plate with a little thicker sauce this came in a very small and I mean very small bowl of what appeared to be noodle soup He was able to find a piece of chicken in there. Was told it was bottomless so he could order more. But was so salty he chose not to. I ordered a big burger waitress asked if well done ok. I told her medium. When it came was burnt. Dry, tasted bad. French fries served with it were dry and didn’t taste good. Will never eat there again
One more comment. We first visited Eckert's while visiting my brother & his wife, who live locally. We are in the area roughly twice per year, and now make this a regular place to visit every time we're in town. It could certainly be considered a touristy stop... but we treat it now like the locals seem to: a top-notch market with great quality and variety.
